The mercurial Babelfish released an album in 2011 to great acclaim and have been enthralling audiences for over ten years. Slightly cult, slightly mad, a Babelfish gig is guaranteed to entertain.
The album was initially recorded in Castlesound studios and engineered by the wonderful Stuart Hamilton. Then the files were transferred to a caravan doubling as a studio in the small township of Clashmore on the Assynt peninsula, where Iain produced the final mixes.
The cover photo was taken at an event at what’s known as Neptune’s Staircase, the series of canal locks descending from the Caledonian Canal into the sea, near Fort William in Scotland. The band were doing the music for a number of different pieces staged at each of the locks for the the dance company ‘Body Currents’. It was a great success and a great thing to do!
